Doris M. (Boileau) Garofalo, aged 77 years, of Lakeville, died on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at Morton Hospital, Taunton. She was the wife of John Garofalo; they had been married for 50 years. Born in Middleboro, she was the daughter of the late Armand and Donata (Bernabeo) Boileau. She was a graduate of Middleboro Memorial High School, and served in the United States Marine Corps in the Women’s Marines. She was in charge of seasonal payroll at Ocean Spray for many years, and later as a financial aid social worker at the Taunton Welfare Office. She was a communicant of Sts. Martha and Mary Church, Lakeville. She enjoyed reading, traveling, and gardening. Survivors include her husband, a son, John P. “Jack” Garofalo of Dighton, a daughter, Jennifer A. and her husband John Blackington of Sandwich, three brothers, Armand Boileau Jr. of Plympton, Louis Boileau of Taunton, and Roland Boileau of East Greenwich RI, two sisters, Pauline McDonald of Weymouth, and Marie Stevens of Kingston, 4 grandchildren. She was sister of the late Leo Boileau. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, March 12th from 8-9:30 am, in the Ashley Funeral Home, 35 Oak St Middleboro, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Sts. Martha and Mary Church, Bedford St. Lakeville, at 10 am. Burial will take place in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Middleboro.
